“He does?” Steve raised both brows, surprised that
Tony actually talked about him, especially to his own
girlfriend. He was flattered, and undeniably it did turn
his cheeks a little pink. “Together?” That just brightened
the hue on his cheeks before he rubbed the back of his
head, shaking the thought away. Tony was with a girl,
a very wonderful one at that, the way he would talk
about her. Steve followed her inside and pulled up a
chair, sitting next to her. “You’re really somethin’ too,
according to him. That spark you were talking about?
Well, you should see the smile on his face when he
talks about you… I’ve never seen it before, I’m sure
he’d hate me tellin’ you this. Poor fella, I’m embarrassin’ him.”
“Yeah.” Ru’s eyes were on Tony once again, her hand going out to hold Tony’s. They felt cold, almost as if he’d taken a plunge into ice. However, upon hearing that Steve was saying how Tony was talking about her, she laughed gently then looked over to him, tears starting to form. “I’m sure when he wakes up, he’ll be glad that you were embarrassing him. Who knows, maybe it’ll bring down his ego some,” she laughed weakly, tiredly. God, she was exhausted. But she didn’t want to sleep. She wanted to stay right by Tony. To let him know that someone was there for him. Someone cares about him. “Doctor says…he doesn’t have much time left, Steve.”
