❆ — It’s snowing and my muse slips on ice, accidentally crashing into your muse.
Antonio was having trouble sleeping lately. His mood was the worst it had ever been, save perhaps the time after the death of his brother, Gregory. If he tried to sleep, he suffered nightmares, memories of the torture, the pain, the fear. He missed Anthony. He missed Steve and Thor. He didn’t know why the hell he lived on while they didn’t.
Susan had invited him to a new team after the Ultimates disbanded after the death of Captain America and Thor. Numbly, he’d accepted, knowing that if he was idle, things would just get worse.
Feeling restless, he headed outside, wearing a thick coat and a scarf as his breath formed clouds in the air. It was December, winter in a rebuilt New York, people doing their Christmas shopping already and many decorations hanging up everywhere, but he could care less. He could only wonder what was the point to it all anymore when he was abruptly pulled out of his gloomy thoughts as he felt his footing disappear under him, his shoe slipping on an icy patch and he yelped as he collided with a smaller body. “Oof!”
Rumiko sighed as she pulled her bag over her head and placed it over her shoulder, her hand sliding down the strap and holding it right in the middle. Her gaze went up to the sky as she swore silently. ‘Father’s going to kill me,’ she thought to herself as she screwed up yet another business deal. She knew it was just a matter of time before her father, who was the founder of Fujikawa Industries, would fire her. He didn’t believe in woman working around technology anyways. But when he finds this out, it would be even more of a good excuse to just cut her loose, and just leave her with her small fortune she already had. She of course, spat at the idea.
Her eyes closed as she walked, her feet taking her to her small apartment in the city. Breathing in the crisp air, she felt her lungs expand as the cool air came in, and that caused her to shiver. Rumiko was not meant for the cold. She’d rather be in Cancun and in bright sunny, warm weather. “God fucking damn, it’s chilly…” she muttered to herself, her arms now wrapping around her body to try to keep warm. It may have been cold, Ru loved the time of year for one thing. And that’s Christmas. Despite just coming off from a relationship, she was looking forward to just some relaxing. Maybe even attend a few parties, hosted by her friends of course. Just then, she stepped onto an icy patch on the concrete. “Shit!” she shouted as she fell face first into a larger person’s chest and fell right on her ass. “What the hell was that…” she muttered and looked up to meet gorgeous blue eyes. “Oh. I’m sorry! Are you okay?” she asked, trying to get up to help the man up, however fell over once again, landing with her stomach on the man. “Oh my god, I swear I’m not a clutz.”
